Joseph Clinton is a London based Designer Maker with a proven track record of designing, fabricating, and installing high-quality work for clients and commissions. Passionate and accomplished, he is skilled in all areas of the design process- from brief writing and trend analysis, CAD design, manufacturing, and project delivery.
Born and raised in Birmingham, England, to an Irish family and growing up in the local Irish community, he has cultivated a life-long love of all things design and music. He graduated from Birmingham City University with a BA (Hons) in Product and Furniture Design, before relocating to London to study MA Design (Furniture) at Central Saint Martins.
Joseph's personal practice centres upon the importance of sound as a sensory modality. Often deemed secondary, superficial or overlooked, Joseph designs to incentivise interaction, ensuring his designs provide direct audio feedback to their user through incidental or performative approaches.

Whether creating enriched multisensory product experiences through the development of new materials or product innovations, recontextualizing our idea of interaction through iteration, or creating detailed design strategies for client projects- Joseph has designed for small-scale and mass manufacture, retail spaces, pop-up events, and one off pieces for exhibition.
